FASHION FROM ABROAD: Out Here In Outerwear

Fashion From Abroad

I have been transfixed by the wide variety of trendy outerwear that has been hitting the streets lately. The classic vintage cocoon coat, first made famous in the late 1950s by Balenciaga, is making a comeback and can be seen and bought everywhere from Topshop to Target.

A second favorite of mine is the ever-popular animal print oversized coat. Add a pair of black leather leggings underneath, white high top Converse All-Stars and accessorize with a red lip and black Wayfarer Ray-Ban sunglasses for an absolutely flawless ensemble. But the piece of the season that has truly stolen my heart is the cloak. This leather one from Mulberry is definitely at the top of my wish list for the holidays.

This Fashionista looks very chic in her dark color tones. Blue and black totally work together for winter, especially when the city and the bleak weather outside seem to match with it. A great dark overcoat is essential when making even the quickest trip to the grocery or market.

This Fashionista’s black suede jacket with faux fur lining poking out around the edges, neckline and cuffs is sublime for braving the blistering winds and cold chills. It is the quintessential example of the type of winter wear that I absolutely adore seeing on the streets. The balance of her silhouette is top heavy while the bottom is super skinny and streamline. The contrast is what makes it so stylish, and the outerwear is entirely to blame. It is definitely something to keep in mind before stepping outside.
