FASHION FROM ABROAD: Not So Blue Jeans

Fashion From Abroad

During midterms it is very easy to let school, books and essays momentarily take over your life… and your fashion sense. Throwing on a pair of sweatpants and a sweatshirt after pulling an all-nighter is way too simple and predictable. Three words come to mind when I think of a sweatpants and sweatshirt combination happening. Resist. The. Urge.

In my opinion, I study and concentrate much better when I am properly dressed and feeling put together. In addition, the library at Syracuse is just as much a social place as it is a place of studying. You never know who are going to run into. That is another incentive to dress to impress during midterm week, especially here in Florence where Florentines dress well every single day!

Despite midterms looming this week, this Fashionista looked impeccably stylish while being comfortable enough to study for seemingly infinite hours in the library.  No sweatshirt necessary.

Instead, this Fashionista opted to wear jeans and a light striped sweater with hand-made sandals from the Amalfi Coast. With that being said, jeans are my go-to article of clothing during midterm week. I know from experience that swiftly throwing on a pair of good jeans after sleeping through an alarm can make you look good in a flash!

Jeans are much more comfortable than they look. They are cozy enough to wear for a day of studying while also give off an aura of put togetherness. This Fashionista’s outfit perfectly emulated that fact.

With that being said, jeans are the most versatile piece of clothing for studying abroad in Florence. They can be worn on the streets day or night and in the library. You can’t say that about everything!
