FASHION FROM ABROAD: No Room For The Cold

Fashion From Abroad

The holidays are a busy time for everyone — with shopping in full swing! Sometimes, we all have those hectic afternoons of trying to track down the perfect gifts for our loved ones or the necessary ingredients for our dessert that we’re bringing to our aunt’s house on the 25th! Although this involves sacrificing an afternoon of relaxing by the fire and watching a Home Alone marathon, with the help of some coffee and the perfect outfit, a Fashionista can conquer the craziness!

Upon shopping downtown in the cold weather, I spotted this Fashionista doing the same. She was dressed in an outfit truly perfect for the occasion. She wore an oversized plaid vintage button-down with dark leggings. She then layered long socks over her leggings and under her lace-up booties. To top off her look, she wore a warm olive green parka, which is a casual winter staple.

This outfit alone would be perfect, but what really made me love this outfit was her trendy way of battling the cold. She buttoned her shirt up all the way, keeping out the chilly air and making a hip, retro statement that is seen on countless runways and city streets right now. Also, the way she incorporates her socks into her outfit not only keeps her feet warm, but balances out her look and attracts the eye to her adorable booties!

Taking this outfit to a relaxed night of catching a movie with your friends after shopping, but don’t need to be quite as warm? Keep some clothes in your car, swapping the leggings for skinny jeans and the parka for a thick, boyfriend cardigan.

Whether you’re getting gifts or dealing with those after-the-holiday returns — happy shopping and happy holidays, Fashionistas!
