Dames Street in Dublin is probably the street that I am most familiar with, well, maybe with the exception of Grafton Street (only because I love to shop). For obvious reasons Dames Street has been my route of transportation. I walk down this street everyday in my weekly routine to go to school. Plus, this street has just about everything to offer: cafés, pubs, restaurants and shops. Dames Street has been a staple in my lifestyle in Dublin and I love to see Fashionistas/os walking along on the daily. Thus, I was so happy to spot this Fashionista on this street! This masculine style and studious look was fashionably hard to miss.
Through a monochromatic layering of blue, the elements of this Fashionita’s outfit include: a wool peacoat, sweater, navy plaid pants and brown tasseled loafers. Together, these elements work to create a semi-preppy boyish look. Yet, the item that serves as fashion statement within this ensemble is the plaid pants. Plaid is a print that is typically seen on button-down shirts. But this past season it has been a trend to see the print in a new light and thus the plaid pant is formed. It is different, innovative and modern. What I like most about this trend is the festiveness of the print as seen on pants. The color combinations and checkered pattern bring the color, weather and holiday season to my mind. The ankle cut of the shoe also brings attention to a women’s best accessory, her shoes.
Loafers are the perfect fall shoes because they are versatile and easy to incorporate into one’s outfit. Most importantly they fill the awkward time period between the summer and boot season. A brown loafer is a fashionable option because brown is a nice fall color and a small detailing of the tassels is a simple way to incorporate the fringe trend that has been popular this season. This outfit incorporates the fall trends into a look that carries a masculine style in a modern way.
