FASHION FROM ABROAD: Leather And A Pop Of Color

Fashion From Abroad

As I arrived at the Vatican I was astounded with how beautiful it was; until I saw this Fashionista. This Fashionista’s outfit was perfect for a chilly day to walk around Rome. Her colorful scarf was the thing that caught my eye first. The bright purple was the most adorable accessory to spice up her leather motorcycle jacket. I have always thought scarves were a great accessory, but once I arrived in Italy, I saw that everyone here really utilizes them. Scarves are sold everywhere in Rome—in corner shops and huge outdoor markets. The bright colors, funky patterns and different materials all make each scarf super unique. Since I have been here, I have worn my scarves so much more to make a drab outfit look more pulled together. I also, can not wait to buy some here from the wonderful clothing markets. Here in Rome, large wrap scarves seem to be the most common.

This Fashionista’s leather jacket was more of a girly take on the recent motorcycle jacket trend. Fur lined the inside and outside of the jacket, and the leather was a bit softer. It gave her a great feminine touch, while still looking chic. These girly, leathers jackets can be found anywhere from Zara to Nordstrom. Leather motorcycle jackets can easily go from a perfect day look, to a glam night look. This Fashionista pulls off the perfect day look with her leather jacket. She could easily add a cute bustier, blouse or plunging neckline tank to make this outfit more night-time friendly. Leather motorcycle jackets are a perfect stable for any Fashionista’s closet. It is versatile and a classic; leather jackets never go out of style.

This Fashionista’s gold, sparkly flats also add a touch of fun to her outfit. Flats are perfect for sightseeing here in Rome. They are comfortable to walk in on the cobblestone streets. Her flats are funky and can also be found at many stores. This Fashionista got her gold flats from ALDO. Similar flats can also be found at many other popular shoe stores.

What I learned from this Fashionista is that you can not be afraid to be a little funky. You can be funky, while still keeping a great classic look. There are so many Fashionistas in Rome walking around sightseeing. They are not afraid to add a little pop of color to their basic, pulled together look. I definitely will be trying this look soon!
