With a population of well over five million, Rome is a substantial and lively city. Bring the masses of tourists that flock to the Eternal City into the equation and you have endless excitement. The bustling streets make for great people watching, and also give me a lot to work with when on the hunt for exciting style. The area near the famous Spanish Steps is Rome at its most upscale. It’s home to the one of the world’s most expensive street of shopping. That means the fashionable seem to especially gravitate to that neighborhood. I set out for the Spanish Steps knowing I would be able to quickly find a Fashionista, and I was right!
This Fashionista is visiting from England with her family. Exploring Rome involves a lot of walking and definitely calls for comfortable footwear. This Fashionista’s Converse high-tops are perfect for walking the cobblestoned roads, and they’re stylish too. She paired them with light acid-washed skinny jeans and a simple sweater. Layered tees featuring floral print add some summer fun to her ensemble. To accessorize, she added a turquoise cross necklace, a black and gold bag, perfect for traveling essentials, and some awesome oversized, round sunglasses. This Fashionista’s look was fresh, effortless and certainly ready for sightseeing.
With suitcase fees and busy itineraries, traveling can really limit your wardrobe options. Cute, comfortable basics and some fun accent pieces can make packing much easier while still allowing you to express your style. T-shirts and tanks that allow for layering can multiply your outfit possibilities. Adding one or two with a print can keep you from feeling mundane. A good pair of jeans is always a wardrobe must. Lighter washes and distressed details are particularly summery. Converse sneakers are extremely popular in Europe right now, especially white ones. Not only are they good for trekking to museums and ruins, but they also bring a sporty edge to any ensemble!
