FASHION FROM ABROAD: Detailed Textures

Fashion From Abroad

I don’t know about you Fashionistas, but I constantly find myself browsing the men’s section in all of my favorite stores. They have great stuff that is sized just right for more petite frames. Even though I share a passion for women’s wear, I share an equal appreciation for the well-dressed men walking around London.

This Fashionisto caught my eye with all of his different layers. Layering is a bold technique, but by adding a little confidence it can really express a unique style. What I love most about this outfit is the colored textures within these layers. In this ensemble, the base is a corduroy button-down with a quintessential denim jacket under a canvas coat. Here are three perfect blue textures combined in a distinct array, creating a masculine mix-matched attire. Each collar, buttoned to different levels, peaks out around his neck, displaying different surface variations. I have to acknowledge the intimate detail on this Fashionisto’s shirts, with wooden buttons, brass snaps and metal claps. These different textured tops combine effortlessly, while still looking sharp.

British men love their professional shirts buttoned all the way to the top, with or without a tie. For this Fashionisto, still in his student years, he has a professional vibe, but with a more relaxed shirt. For all men fashion enthusiasts, a button-down never ceases to be perfectly handsome for any occasion (layered or not). Men seem to feel trapped to more neutral colors when it comes to trousers in the winter, leaving their pastel shorts only for summer. J.Crew has provided their male line with some brighter tones for spring, while still remaining modest. This Fashionisto chose to complement his array of shirts above in fearless purple. The favorite male accessory, the beanie, adds the final finishing touch!
