FASHION FROM ABROAD: Ann Arbor Adventures

Since I still live at home while attending college, I always try and squeeze in a weekend day-trip. This time, Ann Arbor was first on the list! While out shopping at various boutiques and retailers, I spotted another college student rocking an outfit that I used to think was a fashion crime! Black and brown were always the two colors I was told to never pair together. I’ve seen so many people styling these two neutral colors together, I couldn’t help but stop this Fashionista and take some photos.

This Fashionista, paired a black crop top underneath a denim jacket and a leather skirt. The layered denim jacket and black top break up the different aspects of her outfit. Both the brown booties and skirt, along with the black top and tights blend together perfectly with the light wash denim jacket. Sarah’s outfit put a unique twist on simply wearing the traditional button-up skirt with a solid top. The crop top and jacket combination allow for a perfect transition to spring. This Fashionista is inspired by Ingrid Nilsen, a YouTube star who styles one simple jacket in multiple different ways, perfect for anytime of the year.

Many Fashionistas in college are wearing heeled ankle boots as we make the transition into spring. Whether they are wearing cropped jeans or skirts and tights, heeled booties are seen all across campus. This Fashionista likes to pair her booties either with jeans and striped T-shirts, or skirts and sweaters that create an almost effortless look. On a campus as big as the University of Michigan, comfort ranks above having a cute pair of booties. Lucky for this Fashionista, her booties are adorable and comfortable thanks to Urban Outfitters.

I cannot wait to see what other weekend getaways I take throughout the spring semester as well as what new fashion trends I will find along the way!
