FASHION FROM ABROAD: All Hail The Oversized Scarf

Fashion From Abroad

Today is a gloomy day in Heredia. The rainy season is on its way, and we are slowly feeling it day by day (some poetry for ya). Don’t let your fashion fall by the wayside. Now that we’re at the start of summer, it’s time to pump up the style. Take a few hints from today’s Fashionista about how to push through the clouds on a not-so-sunny day.

Today’s Fashionista accessorizes with tortoise shell sunglasses from ALDO. These sophisticated shades add an extra interesting pattern to the outfit. She finishes off the look with black leather lace-up boots which are practical for the incoming rain, and add a dose of edginess to her colorful top-half.

With her vivid color palette, this Fashionista brightens up today’s cloudy weather and inspires others to do the same. She starts with a basic layer, black leggings and a simple pink top, and then adds the dynamite accessory. Her oversized floral scarf really says and does a lot here. The bright colors contrast with and flatter this Fashionista’s long dark hair and skin tone. The vibrant color and large pattern makes this scarf scream sunshine and awesomeness.

This scarf trend just keeps getting bigger and bigger, literally. Extra oversized scarves have been a hit on the runway this year. Missoni’s fall 2014 menswear collection features a couple of larger patterned scarves. Today’s Fashionista wears her not-too-oversized scarf with confidence. She gets the trend, but also finds the oversized scarf as a comfortable addition to her outfit.
