FASHION FROM ABROAD: All-Black Everything

This month I spotted this RAD outfit from a classmate who is also studying abroad this semester at the Institute of European Design! Her outfit is a true representation of European and Italian style. Italian style is effortless, on trend yet classic and well put together.

This Fashionista said her style has changed quite a bit since studying abroad. She stated that she likes to dress up more, wear more neutrals and minimalistic styles. I have learned that Italians care greatly about quality, craftsmanship and materials. It really shows in the street style I see every day in Italy. I have been learning a lot about the history of fashion in my classes, and particularly about major Italian brands. For class last week we had the honor of visiting the Salvatore Ferragamo museum, and learning about his legacy and history.  Not only is the city of Florence the birthplace of the Renaissance, but also Italian designers including Emilio Pucci, Roberto Cavalli and Salvatore Ferragamo. Florence is certainly an inspiring city!

The weather in Italy is starting to become a little chillier (even though it’s still in the 60s), so everyone is dressing for the fall season. This Fashionista rocked a layered black edgy look. All-black is always in style especially in Europe. The leather jacket she’s wearing pairs perfectly with her Geox black booties. She layered a suede midi dress under the jacket which brings everything together, and adds a different texture. This is a sophisticated edgy look that is so easy to put together! You can always add a pop of color with a bold lip or accessories. Definitely try out this look, it’s great for fall and the upcoming winter season. Happy styling!
