STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Be Bold Wear Gold

Uncategorized

Homecoming, like many other schools, is a big event here at Mizzou. The University of Missouri was the first university to start the official “Homecoming” traditions, dating back as early as 1910. It’s a time to proudly wear your university’s colors in a celebration of campus traditions and rituals. The festivities center around a football game, back in the 1900s against long time rival University of Kansas, with parades and spirit rallies leading up to that. It is all about school spirit and bonding, and Mizzou makes it a very special occasion.

Special occasions mean special outfits. It is obvious that black and gold are the primary colors worn around football time. This Fashionista spends her football Saturday staying cool with a checked black and white “M,” representing “Missouri” baseball hat. She pairs it with a white fitted tee instead of gold. The Fashionista pairs her tee with black-cuffed shorts along with black gladiators. School spirit does not mean body paint as clothing as some may think, but rather a classic look like this Fashionista pulls off.

Try a different hat like this Fashionista did. A plaid inspired hat accessory is a perfect way to stand out in a crowd of several of people as well as staying cool while tailgating all day until kickoff.
