We have officially reached that in-between season where it’s too cold to wear a sundress, but everyone is itching to put away the bulky sweaters in favor of lighter, more springy apparel. While everyone, me included, would opt for the light jacket over the classic sweater, jeans and boots combo, this Fashionista caught my eye for thinking out of the box and breaking out of the in-between season rut.
This Fashionista’s beautiful jacket with a retro ’70s feel was the first thing that grabbed my attention and sets the tone for the rest of the outfit. This jacket is the perfect piece for transitioning between seasons with the Sherpa lining, yet because it doesn’t zip or button up, the openness makes it appear less stuffy. The flower printed top is the perfect pop of spring to get you through the next months until real flowers can take its place. She pairs these fun pieces with an adorable denim circle skirt that completes the throwback look! However, this Fashionista throws in some sensible accessories in order to stay warm when the wind begins to blow. The sheer black tights will keep her legs warm, while the high wool socks add a modern touch. Top it all off with the perfect pair of worn-in brown riding boots, and this Fashionista looks ready for an afternoon socializing with friends on the quad!
One Simple Change: To make this outfit more summer-friendly, up the short sleeve shirt for a sleeveless fitted crop top. Since the neckline is high on this tank with a smaller flower print, the crop top, especially paired with a high-wasted skirt, will seem much less risqué. Trade the jacket for an oversized cardigan, and you’ll be good to go!
