This weekend I ventured down to Oxford, the home of the oldest university in England. I enjoyed wandering the cobblestone streets, discovering the stomping grounds of some of my favorite authors (J.R. R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis) and admiring a few iconic buildings used in Harry Potter. The students were clearly hard at work studying in one of the 100 libraries within the different colleges. Did you know that there is still a strict uniform worn by these students for exams? Students are dressed head-to-toe in traditional academic style, which is similar to what professors wear at graduation back in the States. All in all, it was a magical scene. After our walking tour of the city, I was drawn to a covered market outside of campus grounds. Hidden among the various stalls I found an array of items ranging from fresh produce and baked goods to handcrafted bags and jewelry. While admiring the vintage shops and elegant cakes, I spotted a fellow study abroad student, camera in hand, admiring the character of the market. I struck up a conversation with this photography enthusiast and complimented her unique style.
This Fashionista looked relaxed but equally chic for a day of tourist activities. Underneath a monochrome tweed jacket she had hidden gems of color. On a beauty note, this Fashionista kept it effortless and light with minimal make-up, adding a matte pink lipstick to match her color statements. These vivid hues mix perfectly with any basic tones. Instead of putting all you color on your top or bottom, spread it out using accessories for a valiant and eye-catching look!
