Even though it is January, Auburn’s weather has been nothing shy of hot, humid and stuffy. This week had a steady haze of gray skies and random showers. As a Fashionista/o, icky weather should never get in the way of looking your absolute best. After all, you are probably inside a classroom longer than you are outside.
My advice for any rainy day is to keep it fun, flirty and bright. Do not let the rain cloud influence your campus wear. While you will need to keep yourself protected from getting wet, that does not mean you should completely forget about your personal style. For any rainy day, staying dry is at the utmost importance! I find that rainy days are a great way to bring out your personal style through accessories. There are many different styles of umbrellas, rain boots and rain jackets to choose from these days. From patterns to bright colors, there are a variety of ways to show off your personal style through your rainy day wear.
This Fashionista was found “singin’ in the rain” by keeping her outfit simple and letting her umbrella do the talking. Her floral print umbrella really caught my eye on this totally drab day. When using a patterned umbrella, it is best to keep your outfit classic. No need to get crazy with what you are wearing and use a show stopping rainy day accessory. Oversized tops are a major trend here on Auburn’s campus. This Fashionista is a great example of how to wear an oversized sweater, allowing her to stay cool outside and warm in the classroom. Adding a basic T-shirt and a slim black pant will allow your rainy day accessories to be the star of your show.
ONE SIMPLE CHANGE: If your day on campus looks like a full day of rain, slide on a pair of rain boots to protect your feet. No sense letting a puddle of water ruin your normal pair of shoes.
