ACCESSORIES REPORT: Hats Off To Style

Accessories Report

Whether it’s raining, snowing, or you’re just having a bad hair day, hats are the perfect accessory for many different occasions. And if the weather is fine and your hair is clean, hats can still add a certain something to your outfit. I am kind of obsessing over hats at the moment, knit hats in particular. With all the color combinations and shapes, the options are infinite; I guess that’s why I have so many. And it’s okay if you have a lot of hats, really. They don’t have to be expensive and it’s one size fits all, so you can trade with your friends when you get bored.

This week’s Fashionista was spotted wearing a slouchy knit beanie. The casual hat fit just right with the rest of her outfit, regardless of her reason for wearing it. I really like this style of hat because it’s the least likely to give you hat hair, which is always a plus. This type of hat complements the rest of her easy-going outfit. The contrast between her structured boots and oversized beanie adds to her overall eclectic style.

Hats are popping up everywhere lately in all different styles from baseball caps, like this non-sports related option from Target (for Fashionistas like me who know very little about pro-sports), to floppy brimmed ones. Even though it seems like winter will just go on forever, hats are an excellent accessory to help us transition into spring. We can go from a head-warming beanie to a sun-blocking fedora.

Spotted: Hats of all styles were seen on Chanel’s pre-fall 2010 and resort 2011 runways.
