FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Wylie Bott

Fashionista Spotlight

The cold weather is slowly creeping into Kansas’ weather and the sweaters, leggings and denim are coming out on campus. This Fashionista added a denim shirt under her thick, chunky sweater to give it a preppy yet casual look. I noticed and admired this Fashionista because adding the denim shirt created a structured look to her comfortable assemble.

Name: Wylie Bott

Year: Junior

Major: Journalism

College Fashionista: What is your personal style?

Wylie Bott: My personal style is a mix between preppy, clean cut outfits from J. Crew and Urban Outfitters but I still enjoy my lounge clothing during the day. During the day you can find me in a pair of rainbow sandals and my Lulu Lemon leggings. I always go for comfort.

CF: If you could switch closets with anyone who would it be?
WB: I would switch closets with Olivia Palermo from The City. She has such a crisp, preppy style that is always balanced with a unique twist. She mixes blazers with converse making every outfit stand out.

CF: What’s your fall favorite trend?

WB: I love black comes back into style every fall and that I can wear it whenever I please.

How to: Every Fashionista needs a comfy, go-to sweater for when the weather gets cold. When I am shopping for great oversized, vintage-inspired sweaters Urban Outfitter’s has a great selection like the Coincidence & Chance Mixed Stitch Classic Sweater or a more crisp and collected look Madewell’s Contrast Cardigan. Another must-have for fall is a denim shirt. J.Crew’s Western Denim Shirt or Keeper Chambray Shirt are good purchases for fall.
