Audrey Hepburn’s high-wasted cigarette jeans and ballet flats are signature styles of Old Hollywood fashion. This Fashionista’s outfit portrays a classic Old Hollywood style on the bottom and creates a retro pin-up inspired look on top by pairing a tied vintage jean shirt, Ray-Ban Clubmaster sunglasses, and red bandana secured in her hair. She adds an edgy and modernized touch wearing a spiky gold bangle and chunky gold watch.

College Fashionista: If I could switch closets with anyone, who would it be?
Maria Juarez: I would switch closets with Jenna Lyons and Kate Middleton, and perhaps borrow some of Rihanna's accessories.
CF: What is one purchase that I cannot live without?
MJ: My black patent leather flats. I wear them almost everyday in any weather with every outfit. Then when they wear out, I buy the exact same pair again. I will do this until I die. Hell, I'll probably die in these shoes.
CF: Who do I look to for fashion inspiration?
MJ: Oh, my. There's so many. I admire Wallis Simpson and Kate Middleton for their timeless appeal, as well as Katharine Hepburn for her practicality. Then there's Jenna Lyons, with her unorthodox blending of colors, prints and textures; I love her defiance. But above all, I am obsessed with Alexander McQueen—particularly its juxtaposition between strength and delicacy. It's all about tension; that's inspired me the most, so I always look to pair classic with contemporary, grunge with elegance and so on. In other words, if I'm wearing apples, I have to wear something orange.
How To: To achieve this Fashionista’s balance of retro and classic, start with the basics. J.Crew’s Janey Patent Flats and Urban Outfitter’s BDG High- Rise Seamed Cigarette Jeans are practical and classic pieces. Pair these basics with Levi’s Skimmer Shirt, vintage sunglasses like her Clubmaster’s or Topshop’s Catseye Sunglasses and add a red bandana. To personalize this look or add a modern trend match TOBI’s Spiked Bangle.
