Spring is almost upon us! Some states in the U.S. are lucky enough to have lovely spring and summer weather year-round, but for those of us who have not yet experienced the start of spring weather this year, layering has become our best friend. When done correctly, layering can keep you cozy and comfortable in cold weather while also looking fashionable.
Like this Fashionisto did, start with thinner layers first. With the weather fluctuating so much these days, its better to wear a few thin layers, rather than one thick layer. Most of the men I know love their graphic T-shirts. Try representing your college and go with a T-shirt like this gray Kent State one. Layering graphic T-shirts is super easy and there are many ways you could make it work. Like this Fashionisto, you could layer with some zip-up hoodies. This Fashionisto stuck with earthy tones and wore a navy blue zip-up over his T-shirt. He then layered a dark green zip-up on top of that. You could also try wearing an unbuttoned button-down over your T-shirt. If you want a more professional feel, try layering with a blazer like this one from Calvin Klein Jeans.
Even though the biggest trend for this spring is wearing black and white, it doesn’t mean you need to throw out color completely this season. If you’re not into the earth tones like this Fashionisto, mix in some brighter colors. Cobalt blue, sage green, bright yellow, pink and purple are just some of the popular colors for this upcoming spring and summer season.
Hint: Keep it casual. Layering usually does not work for formal settings, so try it when you are heading to class or having a day out with friends.
