STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Weather For Wellies

Style Advice of the Week

Not yet cold enough for snow, rain has been consistently falling here in western New York. The cooler temperatures have encouraged many Fashionistas to officially break out their boots for the fall and winter. In tandem with the constant precipitation, rain boots are making appearances left and right. This week’s Fashionista was spotted keeping dry at the first signs of Hurricane Sandy’s roaming weather.

Wellingtons are one of the most classic and timeless boot styles in fashion today and have come a long way from their first few steps in 19th century Britain. This week’s Fashionista wears black leggings and a purple and magenta striped cable knit sweater, finished with her Original Tall Hunter Boots in black. Her clean-cut outfit is the perfect example of how to be weatherproof and fashion-forward all at the same time.

The Original Tall Hunter Boot is one of my essentials; perfect for rain, light snow or even just cooler weather, the Hunter Boot is very versatile and impermeable. This week’s Fashionista wears the boot in black, but it is available in other colors, finishes and styles. Try the Original Tall Gloss for a more playful look or an equestrian style such as the Regent Carlyle for a more classic look. Add a fleece and cable knit welly sock to line and cuff over your boots, providing some extra insulation for colder days. The Hunter Boot is the epitome of the perfect balance of fashion-forward and practical weatherproof footwear and the best part is that they can be worn in any season, so invest in a pair for yourself as the rainy days are numerous this fall.
