My name is Elizabeth Kettler and I am a junior at James Madison University, majoring in Interpersonal Communication with a minor in Italian Language. Growing up with my Dad in the Air Force, I have lived all over the country, but call Washington, D.C. my home. This spring semester will be my first time writing for CollegeFashionista and I am extremely excited for this opportunity as the What To Wear reporter. It will be fun keeping JMU up to date on all the spring and summer 2013 season trends.
Fashion is all about individuality and being happy. Fashion has given me both confidence and the opportunity to express myself. I find fashion inspiring and fun. My favorite places to shop include Zara, Urban Outfitters, J.Crew and The Outnet. I usually favor simplicity and gravitate towards dark colors and versatile pieces in my wardrobe. However, I do find myself constantly experimenting with trends and my personal style! I tend to buy the more trendy pieces at a bargain or at thrift stores (due to the fact that trends are always changing) and invest in the classic staples. My favorite “go-to” pieces would include soft, oversized cardigans, black jeans and Chelsea boots. I base my style off of Kate Moss, Florence Welch, Emmanuelle Alt and Cara Delevingne–just to name a few! As for designers, I enjoy Prada, Rodarte, Jason Wu and Christopher Kane.
In addition to writing for CollegeFashionista, I’m an intern at Sawhill gallery–an art gallery located on the JMU campus. You can almost always find me there or in the Carrier Library Starbucks. Feel free to stop and say hi.
