This week's Fashionista caught my eye the second I was walking out of the library. Not only was she sporting a cool red hue on her lips, but also her sweater was fabulous. Everything from the color to the texture was stunning. I'm usually a sucker for oversized sweaters, but the way this sweater was perfectly tailored to her body made me think twice about only rocking the granny sweater.
She paired her vintage sweater with a fitted tan skirt and belted it with a thrifted black belt with a gold buckle. This Fashionista added a punch of her uniqueness by adding black oxfords to the mix. She told me that she loved thrifting and collecting one of a kind vintage pieces, which I thought was really cool and added to her personal style.
The red lipstick really brightens up her look and really adds color to her neutral and black ensemble. I love bold lips. The bolder, the better. If you want to go for a bold lip this spring, I'd go with either coral or cherry red. These colors tend to have a lot of pigment to them, so wear them with caution because they can create a very dramatic lip. But, go on, take the risk. It’s totally worth it.
If you feel like recreating this outfit, I recommend going to your local Goodwill or thrift store and looking closely and carefully at every sweater. Make sure to always check for holes, snags and missing buttons. You can find some great gems in there, you just have to dig! (I’ve totally found a Dior sweater before.) You can easily pair your sweater with cropped skinny jeans, a fitted skirt or cut off denim shorts…for spring! Be adventurous with your accessories because the more, the better.
