It's finals week here Portland, and colleges in the area are all feeling the weight of finals, deadlines and making plans for the summer that seems so far away. Typically during this time of the year many people tend to put their wardrobe choices on the back burner. However, on this side of Portland, it’s the polar opposite. Here at the Art Institute we are encouraged to look our best when giving final presentations, for oftentimes there are industry professionals sitting in and giving critiques of our work.
The department that always seems to hit a home run when it comes to looking its best during finals week would have to be the apparel department. This Fashionista is most definitely a product of that. Spotting her just minutes before her PR final, I asked to take a picture and a few questions. Everything about her outfit screamed Fashionista, from the black maxi skirt to the necklace all the way to the stylized tucked-in T-shirt.
One thing to take away from this get-up would have to the pop of color, the neon biker jacket. Personally I would have never thought of doing this when styling a gray-toned outfit, but it works perfectly. You don’t want to be walking around looking like you just came back from a funeral (unless you really did). This Fashionista purchased everything she is wearing from Forever 21. Talk about a walking advertisement! However it turns out she works there, so you might as well make use of that employee discount.
If you’re not a fan of Forever 21, try Topshop’s neon denim jacket or Christopher Kane’s neon biker jacket. But you better do it quickly, for I know my fellow Fashionistas and I will surely be getting one of our own.
