Those who know me can attest to the fact that I absolutely adore watches on both girls and guys. Even though I have yet to find the perfect one for my tiny wrist, it only makes me greater appreciate those that can pull off a snazzy watch. This Fashionisto sat next to me in class and I could not help but notice the shiny gadget on his left hand. His stainless steel watch by Fossil is very simple and sophisticated without any accents or jewels.
There is a higher emphasis placed on guys wearing watches and most of the time a fancy watch is as important as a sports car in that it speaks of one’s wealth and standing in society. However, since we’re all college students here, we don’t need to worry about such trivial scenarios.
However, there are a couple trends in the watch world that you might be interested in. First and foremost are digital watches, which are no longer considered nerdy like they were in middle school. Digital watches are now very hipster and can be found in stores like Urban Outfitters and American Apparel. Stainless steel watches are another fad because they are so professional and clean cut. Last but not least, black watches are also currently trending, specifically matte black-on-black styles because they are so simple but sleek and serious.
With such a wide selection of watches it can be overwhelming to find the perfect one so I suggest browsing in department stores such as Macy's or Bloomingdale's because they do carry a large variety. Also, don’t be afraid to splurge a little bit because it is a great investment!
Spotted: Both Michael Kors, Bulova and Movado featured white stainless steel watches for men and rose gold stainless steel watches for women in their Fall 2012 catalogue.
