Fall is quite possibly my favorite seasons simply because of all the amazing fashions. Layering plays a huge role in my fall wardrobe, as do boots and chunky knits. Embracing these staples will provide a solid base for whatever fall trend you're dying to try out.
Take this Fashionisto; he’s taken layering and made it practical for DC’s brisk weather. The burgundy pullover serves as the base of this ensemble. Fairly neutral in color, it allows for multiple executions of this simple look. Paired with heavy denim and boots, the pullover is automatically given a rugged feel. His quilted jacket not only completes his look, but adds warmth and comfort as well. Simply put, this Fashionisto is ready for fall.
By switching out a couple of pieces, this look can instantly transform into something completely different. For instance, swapping his boots for these oxford booties from ASOS gives the look a more polished and refined feel. Try this bottle green quilted jacket from AllSaints to provide the same warmth and comfort, but to add a pop of color too. Finally, this printed sweater from J.Crew is fun and adds dimension to your run-of-the-mill layering.
Cold weather makes it easy to be lazy with fashion, especially for guys, but I encourage you to put in the extra work. You can be comfortable and warm and still remain fashionable. If you’ve never tried trends before, fall is definitely the season to do it!
