The high-low trend has been amongst us for nearly a year now and I applaud anyone who can still rock this look. A lot of times with trends like this, they die down simply due to lack of creativity and innovation. It's important that Fashionista/os bring life and energy to what could be a dying trend.
This Fashionista in the park, in the most simplest of ways, has given the high-low trend a new life. The white T-shirt had a lot to do with it, but maybe the shirt in conjunction with the motorcycle boots combined with the ripped shorts played to my inner bad girl. Whatever the case may be, the relaxed nature of the outfit was enough to intrigue myself and my camera.
I’ve always been a fan of the high-low look. It’s kind of like a reverse mullet — party in the front, business in the back — and has a place in every conceivable venue. While this Fashionista opted to wear this trend in the form of a T-shirt, high-low silhouettes have found their way into our hearts and into our closets.
Take this cut-out jersey dress from LuLu's. While the difference between the front and the back isn’t as dramatic as this Fashionista’s, it still gives off the same vibe. Or what about this maxi cardigan from Free People? It gives you that chance to play with the high-low trend without necessarily making it the focal point of your outfit.
Playiing with this trend, especially in the fall, is a great way to add dimension to your outfitts. Take pride in rejuvinating a trend on the brink of extinction.
