Winter is in full force here in Ohio, and it is time to bundle up. On frigidly cold days, wearing a coat is simply not enough to keep you warm while walking around campus. Chunky sweaters are a great way to keep you extra cozy while still looking trendy and stylish.
This Fashionista was spotted on a cold day but still caught my eye with her coffee colored pointelle sweater. The design within the open stitches was unique and added some life to the sweater. Though chunky sweaters are a great way to stay warm, they also can add lots of volume to the body, giving you a larger appearance. This Fashionista avoided that problem by adding a braided leather belt around he waist that matches her tall brown boots, and accents her shape. Her dark jeans are flattering and allow the attention to be drawn up to her face with the fullness of her collar. If you wear a fuller sweater on top, be sure to keep your bottoms more form fitting in order for your figure to still be apparent.
Adding the scarf around the outside of the collar of the sweater adds a little pop of print and color, which made her outfit stand apart from those simply wearing plain, brown sweaters. Sweaters typically come in solids and neutrals, so adding a pop of color or a subtle print with complimenting colors is a great way to add some flair to your outfit. Pairing a chunky sweater with a floral tank or sequin tank underneath also is a great way to achieve this!
