This past summer and fall, nude tones were seen everywhere. Whether people were purchasing nude pumps for a night on the town or nude completely lace tops, “less-is-more” certainly seemed to be color trend for many designers. As we entered 2011, it was evident from the fall 2010 fashion shows that designers such as Chanel and Alexander Wang were easing up on the color black and definitely not letting go of light colors such as nude. The aspect about nude colored pieces that I find especially unique is that the pieces still remain classy. Adding nude and other light colored clothing and accessories allows an easy way to take a minimalist approach to an outfit.
As I was walking into the Michigan Union the other day, I couldn’t help but notice this Fashionista’s simple nude and black outfit. Although these colors typically are seen as generic, it is all about the actual pieces. Her coat is ZOOC, which is a Korean brand. I had never heard of it before, but I checked out the website and they have a lot of really trendy jackets and skirts. Their look-book showed many innovative ways to put their clothing together, which is a unique characteristic that many online shopping websites are starting to include. By pairing her nude jacket with black leggings, black boots and a black wrap-around scarf, this Fashionista allowed her jacket to be the focal point of her outfit and emphasize the nude color trend. This week, look out for nude or tan colored pieces to add to your wardrobe. Remember that a simple look can still be a complete look.
