CollegeFashionista X VS PINK: From Day to Night With The Bralette at NYU

Exclusive Feature

I think we can all agree that the bralette is one of the best things to happen to both fashion and lingerie. They are comfortable, pretty, versatile, and did I mention comfortable? In the summertime especially they are great for layering with tees and tanks, and as someone who often complains about “real” bras I’ll basically use any excuse to wear one.

The lace bralettes by Victoria’s Secret PINK are great for the CollegeFashionista. They are fun, easy to wear and work for both daytime and nighttime looks. For a sporty daytime outfit, I’m wearing a lace bralette in Multicolor Daisy. Paired with a cropped tank, sweats and high-tops, the bralette is ideal for a day spent at the library, running errands, or simply hanging out at home.  I like contrasting the bright colors with a neutral shade so that the bralette can peek out boldly underneath. When the weather allows it, I’m all about flaunting the bralette so long as the rest of the outfit balances out. If your bra is going to show, mind as well make it obvious, right? The lacey details of these PINK ones make you WANT to show them off. Now you have no problem wearing those low back, low cut or sheer tops that just don’t look as good with a regular bra.  The visual appeal of a lace bralette makes it a much more exciting option than any old plain bra.

For instance, with lacey blouses a bralette is the perfect undergarment solution. In my nighttime look I’m wearing a solid black bralette with a lacey button-up shirt. The lace under lace works perfectly – the bralette almost looks like it’s apart of the top. For me, black is an essential shade to have because it’s my go-to for evening and camouflages well under a lot of my clothes.

In keeping with the neutral palette of my nighttime ensemble, I’m wearing a pair of high-waisted patterned pants for a chic black and white look. Chunky heeled booties finish off the outfit. For a night out, even though I want to be dressier and more glam I still want to be comfortable. (I’m not the kind of girl that can dance properly while wearing a fitted short dress and stilettos.) That’s why the bralette is so great. Unlike a wired bra, a bralette feels light and stretchy. And for girls that like their bras pushed-up and padded, remember that a bralette allows you to easily wear lower necklines. It also lets you leave your shirt unbuttoned, which I demonstrate in my nighttime look. Thus, you can still achieve a little skin-bearing cleavage without all the extra cushion and wire. The end result is a little more flirty, modest and girl-next-door.

So whether they’re for laying in bed with Monday night’s reading or hitting the town with your girlfriends, VS PINK’s lace bralettes are ultra comfortable in the prettiest way possible. They come in many different colors so that your layering options are endless.
