As you can tell with the relaunch of CollegeFashionista, we are all about the “new” this fall. The new CollegeFashionista just so happens to coincide with every Fashionista’s favorite time of year—back-to-school. There is no better way to celebrate this new school year then with a few new fashion-forward pieces. I mean, how else is one to make the campus their runway without looking on trend this fall?
Lucky for you, CollegeFashionista has partnered up with one of our favorite online destinations, NASTY GAL—a company who also embraces fashion-forward, free-thinking Fashionistas. Together, CollegeFashionista and NASTY GAL are taking a few college campuses by storm with the help of our fashion-savvy Style Gurus to welcome the new school year in style.
To celebrate everything new, our Style Gurus got their back-to-school shopping on by curating their new favorite looks from NASTY GAL’s amazing selection. From statement making culottes to eye-popping accessories, these ladies are embracing their inner NASTY GAL and proving that Style Gurus do it better.
Here are what our Style Gurus had to say about their new looks. Be sure to check of their individual features in the gallery as well.
Anna, University of Kentucky: Back-to-school is the time for a fresh start and new opportunities, so looking your best is absolutely essential. To make a lasting impression, go for a more put-together look with a fun twist, like the outfit I chose from NASTY GAL. Cropped trousers look perfectly professional with a crisp white button-down, while sparkly heels and bright orange lipstick add a fun flair that screams style. By including elements that are both serious and fun, you can be both a Style Guru and a certified #GIRLBOSS—and basically rule the school.
Meghan, East Carolina University: Let’s be honest, nobody pays attention on the first day of class. Instead of letting this time go to waste, NASTY GAL and CollegeFashionista helped give my peers something to take notes on—my style. I’m all about transitional wardrobe staples, so my back-to-school look revolves around the use of black, white and the one layering piece I can’t live without: an oversized flannel. Who wants to be punctual, prim and proper when you can be punky, plaid and platformmed?
Anna, University of South Carolina: My outfit from NASTY GAL was the perfect ensemble to wear on the first day of school! Even though I am starting my junior year I still feel just as excited to pick out what I am going to wear as I did my very first day of school. I am more than obsessed with my Mink Pink plaid dress that I paired with my new Shelly London booties. I tied a mesh sweater around my waist to give the ensemble a ‘90s vibe and to be extra prepared incase I walked into a cold classroom. I’m so excited to start the semester in style with the help of NASTY GAL.
Kali, Florida State University: I’m fighting the heat here in Florida with this one, but it’s totally worth it—especially with these sunnies. I couldn’t resist going for an oversized witchy-sporty look combining the Referee Sweater with a high slit skirt and lace-up heeled boots. Personally I’d sport this for anything; class, parties, dinner, coffee…
Olivia, University of Florida: It may be roughly one million degrees in Florida right now, but the bus, local coffee shops and classrooms are still what I would describe as more or less Arctic. That’s why I chose to style this slightly oversized Cheap Monday sweater over a feminine, summery white skirt. Throw a simple tank top underneath, and you’ve got a look perfect for transitioning between temperatures.
