Of the many items in my wardrobe, shorts come in low supply. The pairs I do have consist of old high-waisted cutoffs that just don’t flatter my curves. I have never been able to find a pair that suits my figure or style preferences until now. I can honestly say that the classic American Eagle Outfitters Dark Denim Midi Shorts are the most comfortable and flattering shorts I have ever put on my body. They are made of soft stretch cotton denim, which makes them ideal for any CollegeFashionista’s closet. The whiskered thighs and raw hem give them some interest and make them more stylish than just a regular hemmed pair.
There is no limit to what can be worn with these shorts. Pair them with the Studded Moto Boot and Textured Sweater for a concert-ready outfit or simply throw on the Open Stitch Sleeve Popover with the metallic-accented Clarks Artisan Sandals for a beautifully laid-back look.
I styled these shorts simply and casually with my favorite vintage Van-Halen band tee and boyfriend flannel tied around my waist in case it got chilly. I went with my Dr. Martens black velvet Aggy creeper to add a little bit of height to the look. I made sure my sunnies were nearby and that my fingers were adorned with plenty of rings. Finally, I wore my favorite chocolate brown lip liner and lipstick combination to add some edge to the shorts.
I will be wearing these shorts to class, outdoor events and to grab a cup of coffee in between Monday lectures come springtime. They will also be perfect for running errands and going to the lake. Since denim trends are always abundant each season, I just know that these cuffed dark wash shorts will quickly find their place as a staple in my wardrobe for years to come.
