If I were to describe my style, I would say it is broad. I have no one set look I wear over and over again. Whether that be gothic black or preppy pastels, my style is multi-cultural and multi-generational. Half of my wardrobe consists of pieces I got from Goodwill and thrift stores while the other half is a variety of Forever 21, eBay, random online stores and mixed purchases. When CollegeFashionista asked me to participate in their white T-shirt challenge, I was ecstatic because it actually was a challenge.
I don’t usually wear white shirts despite the fact that a good portion of my closet is taken up by an assortment of them. Living in Miami, color is very popular but working with a simple white T-shirt made for a great foundation to a vibrant outfit. I chose to focus on the color yellow because the shirt was rather baggy and unfitted; but by adding color I could show off my feminine side. The white T-shirt acted as a palette cleanser, something to make the otherwise overwhelmingly vibrant ensemble easier to digest.
Here is how I styled my white T-shirt:
- Harem pants: The pants are traditional harem pants but you can find some equally vivacious pants at J.Crew currently.
- Jeffrey Campbell Litas: I paired them with my tan Litas as a way to bring a touch of contemporary extravagance to an otherwise basic look.
- Gold jewelry: With vintage gold jewelry, I added a dainty feminine flair to my long and tall silhouette. Mr. Kate has a great assortment of thin rose gold bands that ensure feminine daintiness to any look such as the Eir unisex ring or the Aether chain ring.
- Simple hair and makeup: Other than that I kept hair and makeup basic to mimic the simplistic beauty found in basic the white T-shirt.
