I can’t believe the time has finally come. I can finally say that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have been extremely blessed to have this opportunity to get a higher education in my field of passion. I am finally finishing up at The Art Institute of Austin and the road to a Bachelor’s degree has been a long one. After drastically changing my major from Biochemistry to Fashion Marketing, to say I am ready to start my future is an understatement. Fashion is such a hard concentration to pursue and after learning that it’s such a cutthroat industry, I am still pursuing it. This leads me to my number one takeaway from college—you can accomplish anything you work hard towards. No matter who or what is against you, if you really want something, go after it!
I am proud to say that I have been a part of CollegeFashionista for one semester. Joining this team has given me many opportunities. I plan to pursue a career in trend forecasting and this internship has shared an aspect of what trend researchers do by discovering what is popular on the streets. Although it’s been a relatively short journey compared to a lot of others, I am still lucky to have this opportunity and I have enjoyed every bit of it.
Usually, I am one who likes to have a plan for everything in life. I am getting the opportunity of a lifetime to go to Europe and I have no plan. I can literally do whatever I want and that is what I intend to do. I am moving to Germany and I plan to travel all over Europe. I’ll get the chance to explore European fashion and all of the fashion capitals. Learning and exploring different cultures, languages and ways of life is what I am looking forward to the most and I just want to soak it all in. I am so excited that just the idea alone is giving me goose bumps. I can’t wait for the day to come where I will be saying so long America and hello, Europe.
