It’s almost that time where we take the next step into our lives. I am a little scared of what is to come; but life is an adventure and we should always look at it in a positive way. I remember the first day I came here to UNH. It was going to be the first time I ever stayed away from my family, but I knew that this change was going to be good for me and I would become more independent. I tried really hard to keep an open mind about the whole thing…and it WORKED! In the end, these past four years have taught and brought me so much more. I learned a lot about myself, including my likes and dislikes to my strengths and weaknesses. I got to met new people and made life long friendships. I will truly miss my time with each and every one of them. Most importantly I think without my college experience I would have never realized my love for fashion.
Even though my time with CollegeFashionista was short it was an amazing time. I have to say it was all thanks to my roommate and good friend, Lauren Garza, who came upon the CollegeFashionista website and told me to sign up. At first I did not think I would get it but she pushed me just enough to have the confidence in myself to just do it and I’m glad I did. This experience has given me the first step to do what I love. It was so much fun walking around campus and taking pictures of people. I felt like I brighten up their day just a little by telling them they looked great in their outfits. I also got to learn all aspects of social networks and how they work. Before this I barely knew how to use Facebook. I never knew how much social networks could help you get yourself out there. I truly wish I had another semester just so I could do this all over again.
As for my future plans it’s a little up in the air. I majored in Tourism Planning and Development so I hopefully want to find a job at a hotel. I will gain some experience in the hospitality industry. Then I will raise money and move to NYC and work there. While there I want to do as many fashion internships as possible and see how it goes from there. My true dream is to become a fashion stylist. Nothing goes as planned so I will see where life takes me.
