It’s hard to believe I am finally graduating university. I still remember my first day in residence, when I was only seventeen, like it was yesterday. It’s definitely been a rollercoaster ride, with its fair share of ups and downs, but now that I’m finally leaving I realize it’s all been worth it. All the bumps in the road made me who I am today.
It still boggles my mind to think back on how much I’ve changed over the years, especially my sense of style. In first year, lululemon leggings, an American Eagle T-shirt and black flats was like my daily uniform. Now, my style is bolder and much more eclectic. I picked up this dress off a street vendor in Rome, and this plaid shirt from Pimkie in France, and the layered jewellery is from all over the place. My ankle boots from the Bay have been a favourite this season and a major upgrade from my old flats. I dress how I feel and it changes day to day. It’s been especially fun to experiment with my style in Toronto, where the sidewalk is just as influential to the fashion scene as the runway.
My time with CollegeFashionista has opened my eyes to the diverse and exciting fashion we have here at the University of Toronto. I really loved writing LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS. Men’s fashion is just as large of an inspiration to me as women’s fashion and it’s great to see what’s current in men’s street style.
Although my time with CollegeFashionista is coming to an end, I can’t say I’ll stop looking to Fashionistas and Fashionistos on campus or in Toronto for inspiration. I’ll be staying in Toronto to enjoy this beautiful city in the summer before heading off to Paris, the fashion capital of the world. As sad as I am to leave, I can’t wait to start the next adventure.
