The time has come for me to take a bow in front of the University of Texas Pan-American campus and see where I am headed after four amazing years. My definition of college is “an unforgettable learning experience in a student’s life that puts you through every single emotion there is.”
I am very proud to say that my college experience here at UTPA has been remarkable and unforgettable one, even though I lived with my parents. At the beginning it was a time in my life where I began as an immature person, not caring much about my classes or grades as I just wanted to pass by. After the first year I began paying attention in classes a little bit more and saw my grades improve. At that moment in life I thought, “Wow I think I could do better than that,” and started testing my skills.
Then my sister enrolled in the Honors program and started orientating me to join her. I started to analyze at all the opportunities UTPA had to offer me. Later on, I joined the Honors program and had the opportunity to go to Paris with them. I look at myself now and see what a mature person I have become. I learned from my mistakes and accomplished more that I thought I was capable of. Overall, the most difficult semester had to be this one, where I completed an undergrad thesis, which I thought I could never do. UTPA has taught me so much and I am thankful for that. The most valuable lesson I learned in college is you can accomplish anything you put your mind and vision in it, don’t ever give up on anything.
Even though I have been a Style Guru for one semester here at CollegeFashionista, I have discovered something in me that I never knew I had. CollegeFashionista first showed me how to write in proper AP style, approach Fashionista/os, take a great pictures, cover events and best of all how to develop an eye for fashion trends. I discovered in this short semester that I LOVE fashion! I remember since I was little girl I loved dressing Barbie’s instead of playing with them. CollegeFashionista also gives you the opportunity to meet and develop friendships with other Style Gurus like me. My CollegeFashionista experience has been so much fun. I love what I do every week and now my fellow gurus from UTPA and I are doing a promotional event just for them, to allow other Fashionista/os to have the same opportunity.
For my future plans, I plan to go to graduate school and get a master degree in counseling. I have not chosen which university I would like to attend to (but I am hoping for one that could give me a good scholarship). All in all I hope you all enjoyed my weekly blog posts and wishing everyone a great summer.
