Many a drab day, you find the streets of London are crawling with women and men dressed head to toe in black. In my opinion, it’s the easiest color to pair virtually anything with. But I’ve always wondered, what does it say about who you are? Does it say “Don’t talk to me” or “I’m très chic?” I find that color is always a quick way to show off your personality. For me, my favorite is pink. I have a fondness for all colors of the spectrum, from light pastels to harsh metallic and basic blue to vibrant orange. They always inspire me, but the girly side of me loves the big and bold hello of pink. Granted I don’t always have the guts to stand out in the crowd, and I retreat like the rest to the simple black jacket way of life and blend in. But every once in a while, a girl’s got to shine!
This week’s Fashionista demonstrates precisely this idea. She wears what is normally seen as a very structured and professional item, the blazer. By wearing it in such in unlikely color makes a great statement and looks confident. When you choose to wear a bold color, it doesn’t mean every part of your outfit has to be over the top as well. This Fashionista pairs her blazer with a simple white blouse that’s femininity accentuates the color of her jacket. She keeps the rest of her outfit modest with black shoes and black jeans. To add something extra without going overboard, she does her hair in a sock bun. Overall her continuity with solid colors keeps it relaxed and simple, but that extra pop of color catches your eye gives it a personal flair.
If you’re not a fan of pink, it doesn’t mean you can’t choose your own favorite color in a blazer style. Any color will serve the purpose of adding some spice to your outfit. It could be a cardigan or even a pair of pants, whichever part of your body you want to accent. With spring around the corner and the sun starting to shine, those beautiful and bold colors will look great as you frolic about. I’m not saying black is bad; just a little color never hurt anyone!
