Hello fellow Fashionistas and Happy New Year! I am delighted to have the opportunity to be writing for CollegeFashionista again. I’m in my fourth year at Purdue University, studying retail management and this will be my second semester writing for CollegeFashionista. I’ve always been passionate about fashion. There’s something so inspiring about trends and how fashion can transform someone. I was born and raised in central Indiana, though I’ve always felt like I’ve belonged elsewhere. I just feel like there’s so much more out there.
I love being a part of CollegeFashionista because it involves two of the things that I love most—fashion and writing! I find it quite difficult to describe my personal style because, like my mood, it changes every day. If I had to sum it up, it’d be bohemian meets ’90s grunge. I never leave the house without my army green parka and some kind of scarf. Recently I’ve been a little obsessed with infinity scarves, such as this one from Topshop. They’re a great way to pull an outfit together and stay warm this winter! To me, being confident and true to yourself is all you need to have great style. Aside from my favorite go-to stores like Urban Outfitters and H&M, you’ll find me perusing through Goodwill and other thrift shops for ways to stay stylish on a budget.
I see every day as a new chance to be inspired by the weather, a song I hear or a person I meet on the street, and especially by what others are wearing. I’m so excited to be sharing with you the style savvy students from around Purdue and hope that you’ll be inspired as well!
