I can’t help but write about this Fashionista’s outfit’s playfulness, as she steps out for Valentine’s Day festivities, although the holiday will have come and gone by the time my post is published. I loved how she dressed up and contrasted her graphic T-shirt with a feminine blush-colored skirt. The duo made for a perfect casual daytime outfit, or for a night out ensemble with that special someone.

CollegeFashionista: I love your outfit! Where did you get all of your different pieces?
Betsy Lahrman: My skirt is from Urban Outfitters, my shirt is from Forever 21 and my shoes are from Aldo.
CF: Where do you normally shop for clothes?
BL: Mostly H&M and Urban Outfitters, but I’ve recently done a lot of online shopping from Tobi.
CF: Do you have any wardrobe staples?
BL: Leopard print flats, boxy sweaters, low neck tanks, bulky scarves, dark-wash skinny jeans, ripped skinny jeans and high-waisted shorts.
CF: Do you have any style icons?
BL: One style icon is Rachel Zoe because she loves black and accessories, and she always looks put-together, but eccentric. Another icon of mine is Mary-Kate Olsen because she either looks fabulous and well dressed, or she looks as though she doesn’t really care if she resembles a hobo. She still pulls it off as trendy.
CF: What was your most recent clothing splurge?
BL: A pair of black suede ankle boots.
How To: Betsy’s look is all about mixing femininity with grunge. Think about combining feminine sheer fabrics and pastels with black or dark gray pieces. A fun muscle T-shirt is a perfect way to dress down this pleated chiffon skirt from Urban Outfitters. Throw on your favorite collar necklace, to add some visual interest, and you’ve got a perfect outfit for this spring!
