LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS: Only the Vest

Let's Hear it for the Boys

Rainy days sure know how to put a damper on looking fashionable for class. Luckily enough, though, the rain didn’t stop this Fashionisto from giving us a fierce attitude.

I spotted this Fashionisto upon my entrance into the dining hall. His crisp and put-together ensemble immediately caught my attention. Fashionistos should definitely start taking style advice from this week’s Fashionisto. Despite the horrible weather, this Fashionisto still puts together a nice outfit that can actually be worn for a variety of occasions.

The layering–his blue button-up shirt underneath a gray sweater and navy blue puffer vest–are the highlight of his outfit. Although the colors in this look aren’t bright, they do go perfectly with the mood of a rainy day. He wears a pair of khaki pants to not only keep his outfit simple, but to make his ensemble extremely wearable for an everyday college student.

Another key component of this look is the black messenger bag. I know shopping around for bags can be harder for men than it is for women, so let me help you guys out a bit! Check out this Kenneth Cole Reaction messenger bag, one I consider to be quite stylish. While the messenger bag lends to a more professional attire, it is useful for storing school papers and books that are a hassle to carry around all day. This look would be perfect for class, work and meetings.

The last element of this Fashionisto’s look that needs to be highlighted is his footwear. He  sports a pair of brown penny loafers. Besides being comfortable, penny loafers are essential shoes in a Fashionisto’s closet because they can be paired with any outfit, dressing it up or down.

Hint: To recreate this certain look, check out this Oxford shirt and pair of slim fit khaki pants. ASOS has fashionable items for a low price. If you have a hard time finding a puffer vest, then check out similar ones at Target, Sears or Urban Outfitters. You can also find key pieces from this outfit at Forever 21, H&M or Express.
