STYLE GURU BIO: Christine Flammia

Style Guru Bio

Hello my favorite Fashionistas and Fashionistos! The New Year has dawned upon us once again. This is a wonderfully optimistic time of year: a time for reflection and resolution, a time for commemoration and unscathed beginnings. As I look back on the year, I always enjoy remembering the seasonal trends that have, thankfully, passed us by. I’m grateful for the re-installment of solid colored, healthy hair as the most beautiful hair trend in place of single-streaked undertones or ombre destruction. I’m grateful for suede and leather brightly colored flats in place of the uber-trendy sneaker wedge. However, I’m mostly grateful for the grit and stamina of the happily colored denim trend—Nothing exudes happiness quite like a pair of Murder-She-Wrote-red jeans.

This semester, I will be making some changes of my own, both in my education and, subsequently, in my wardrobe. For spring 2013 I will be transferring to the University of Florida, keeping Journalism and Spanish as my Double Major. I will be on the Competitive Cheerleading squad as well as continuing my two internships with CollegeFashionista. This will be my third semester as a Style Guru, this time writing for STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK, and my second semester as an Editorial Intern.

I am thrilled to begin anew and to experience a culture and style that I have not yet been exposed to. I have a particular awareness for great shoes and comma splices—I plan on sharpening and expanding these regards in this unfamiliar territory of Gainesville, Florida. So fashion-forward Floridians, I hope you too are putting your most stylish, best shoe forward for this New Year and semester—I’m in need of some sunny inspiration. Go Gators!
