TREND: Autumn Hues and Leather Booties

Uncategorized

As summer winds down it is always fun to check out what new and old trends will resurface for the next fashion season. Fall is absolutely one of my favorite times of year in the fashion world because it is all about layering, mixing and matching different wardrobe pieces, and playing up the amazing autumn colors that are quintessential to the season. Seeing as though Athens has pretty much felt like the African Sahara this summer, I'm predicting that fashion this fall will rely more on lighter pieces like tanks, scarves, light-weight jackets, and cardigans more than wool sweaters and warm coats of previous years.

This week's Fashionista captures the essence of fall in a vintage silk tank, skinny jeans, a versatile wrap around scarf, and a fashion-forward pair of oxford style booties. Her silk top embodies classic fall colors with beautiful flowers in rusty orange, deep eggplant, and burnt red – some of my very favorite hues. Her dark washed skinny jeans are slimming and look amazing tucked into her chestnut brown "Peter Pan" style booties that reflect an aspect of menswear while acting as the perfect compliment to her colorful top. Her neutral knitted oblong scarf is a fabulous accessory, as it adds a certain edge to the outfit, while not overwhelming the look. This Fashionista tops this fall style off with elegant oversized pearl studs and a basic gold bangle. Her outfit captures all of the Fall "must haves" and is even more amazing because it can be worn day or night. With the heat still blazing in Georgia, her ensemble is fantastic for cooler nights, and can be adapted for colder temperatures with the addition of a knit sweater or a leather bomber jacket.

Hint: Be bold in your shoe selections this fall and try adding a menswear style pair of oxfords to your wardrobe like this Fashionista does so fabulously! They look amazing with short dresses, flirty skirts, and skinny jeans, so give this trend a shot. If you aren't a fan of flat oxfords, go for a pair with a heel. Have an amazing and fashionable fall fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos!
