Today is a bittersweet day as it marks my final post of the season. It is bitter for obvious reasons, but the day is made a little sweeter by the sunny outfit of this Fashionista. There’s nothing like a bright, saturated color to lift the spirits — at least, when it comes to getting dressed.
Every Golden Panther knows that pairing shades of blue with shades of yellow makes for a great color combination (blue and gold counts, right?). Throughout this past semester, we've seen college students and fashion designers alike embrace this perfect color combo. Today’s Fashionista does no less as she gives the look her own twist by bringing blue into her outfit exclusively through the use of accessories. Her turquoise necklace provides an extra pop of color and creates a lovely contrast against her sunny, yellow top. If I had to pick a favorite part of her outfit, though, it would be her fabulous cross-body bag. The dark blue stripes contrast beautifully against the bag’s brown leather trim, as well as the bold yellow top; its crowning touch is what really makes the outfit.
Today’s Fashionista continues her perfect pairings and demonstrates one of the best ways to wear bright colors by pairing her bright shirt with a smart khaki. The subdued color of her khaki shorts lends the nearly-neon shade of the yellow shirt a bit of seriousness and sophistication, while the bright top brings in a welcome dose of summer fun.
