FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Courtney Miceli

Fashionista Spotlight

You can never go wrong with black—it’s chic, simple and goes with everything. And when paired with the right accessories, you can put together a great outfit for those days when you want to look like a million bucks, but are maybe rocking your favourite finds from a vintage shop. I spotted this Fashionista on campus in a simple black ensemble, but what stood out were her accessories, from her knitted headband to her classy structured bag. I especially love her choice of lipstick. It really puts the finishing touch on the overall look!

Name: Courtney Miceli

Major: Journalism

Year: Freshman

CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?

Courtney Miceli: I don't really know. I like to change it up, so I can't really label myself to a particular style.

CF: What are your top three wardrobe staples?

CM: A simple bag, black ankle boots and lipstick.

CF: Who are your celebrity style icons?

CM: Twiggy, Nico, Claire Boucher (Grimes), Nyane Lebajoa, the Olsen twins, Kate Moss and the list goes on and on. They all have a very unique look, and I love the fact that they can rock certain items that no one else could.

CF: Where do you like to shop?

CM: Honestly, some of my best finds have been purchased at Value Village or other second-hand stores. I also love Topshop, American Apparel and NASTY GAL to name a few.

CF: What season do you get most excited to dress for and why?

CM: I love dressing for autumn because it's the perfect weather to mix your summer wardrobe with your winter wardrobe. And it's just a beautiful time of year!

How To: Start off with a black floral printed top and black leggings. Then throw on a long black wool coat and add a pair of dark gray socks and black lace-up boots. Next, find a black structured bag with cream coloured accents and a knitted headband. Finish off with a maroon/dark purple shade of lipstick.
