This spring, step out on campus in fresh and light colours to make a transition from your winter greys. Fashionista/os are antsy to get rid of the cold weather, that’s for sure! I spotted this Fashionista wearing pretty pastels and soft textures, perfect for getting into the spring spirit. I loved how she combined pale pink and aqua, and how she layered on her jewelry, adding an extra feminine touch to her ensemble.
Name: Nikki Delorme
Major: Radio and Television Arts
Year: Junior
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?
Nikki Delorme: Comfort, girly, preppy and natural.
CF: What are some of your wardrobe staples?
ND: Coloured jeans. I have purple, aqua, teal, coral, grey, burgundy, white, beige and green! I can pair them with a casual white T-shirt and a chunky necklace, having an easy outfit.
CF: Whose closet would you love to raid and why?
ND: Blake Lively. She’s gorgeous and always looking fresh, comfortable and glamorous. Also, if I got to look into her closet, that means I would be in her house and hopefully run into her gorgeous hubby.
CF: Where do you like to shop?
ND: I don’t really have any favourite places to shop. I’ll walk by stores and if something catches my eye, I’ll walk in no matter what store it is! Most of my clothes are from Joe Fresh, Guess, Forever 21 and H&M.
CF: If money weren’t an issue, what one item would you love to splurge on?
ND: If money weren’t an issue I would love to splurge on a Kate Spade purse. The spring purses are all bright and floral! The bags aren’t too much money, but most of my purses are under $100 and are mostly from Aldo or Winners.
CF: What season do you get most excited to dress for and why?
ND: Spring, for sure. It’s not too hot or too cold, so you can dress bright and colourful, and you can bring along a cute lightweight jacket.
How To: Start off with a pale pink sheer blouse and a white cardigan. Then, add a light pink jacket and a pair of aqua or mint pants. For a feminine touch, accessorize with layers of long beaded necklaces and bracelets. Finish off with a pair of brown ankle boots.
