Today, we will be tackling a question that has been plaguing mankind for decades, mainly the college population. Let’s start at the root—Greek Life. Now, I understand that there are certain days when the whole chapter must wear a certain shirt, color or letters. But, on days when you must show your unity you also want to express your individuality. You are in Greek Life, but how do you accessorize all those sorority/fraternity shirts?
The answer may surprise you, but it’s pretty simple. Simple is best when it comes to accessorizing for your sorority or fraternity. The focus should remain on that unity as a chapter and as a whole package, keeping your shirt or outfit as the main focus. This week’s Fashionista was “business in the front, party in the back” as my friends in Karmin would say.
Accessorizing with an awesome floral backpack was a great way to show off her own style, while still showing off her sorority devotion with her T-shirt. Not only is the backpack a cute accessory, but also it is one of the most practical accessories for a student. It makes carrying books easier and more organized.
Urban Outfitters has a great selection of bags offering a range of patterns from florals to acid-washed designs. If you haven’t been keeping up with your fashion news, Damien Hirst has collaborated with The Row to customize some of their backpacks, which have been selling like hotcakes for $55,000 (yes, I said 55k). If you don’t have $55,000 lying around to spend on a backpack, here is a DIY from P.S.-I Made This to save you about $54,950. Just because you are a broke college student doesn’t mean you can’t carry those books in style!
Spotted: Alexander Wang is a strong supporter of the backpack, featuring it in his pre-fall 2013 and resort 2013 collections.
