STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: A Shoe-In For Gold

Style Advice of the Week

Summer 2012 brings the world together in a viewing spectacle only experienced every four years. Americans from Los Angeles to New York, Seattle to Miami, cheer on Olympic hopefuls as they go for the gold. While watching from the couch may be the closest us normal folk will get to the action, that should not stop us from pursuing the gold standard here at home.

When I first spotted this Fashionista it was her printed crop top and bright white denim that caught my eye. Upon a second glance I saw her sparkling gold flats and had instant shoe envy. Every Fashionista knows that shoes can both make or break an outfit. Have you ever heard of a head-to-ankle look? These shoes are the perfect way to spice up the outfit. She also does a great job of using the color in moderation. When wearing gold it is important to keep from going overboard. Too much gold can be overwhelming and may run the risk of looking tacky. She matches the shoes with a beige over the shoulder purse and beige and black shirt creating coherency in the neautral color scheme. White jeans cuffed right above the ankle is a great choice for summer and for this look.

For fall she could easily swap in a pair of black jeans or a black skirt with black opaque tights which will make the shoes pop even more, if that’s possible. Wearing these with a pair of blood red jeans a black shirt and a red lip would also look fantastic. And, while New Years Eve is months ahead of us, think about rocking a pair of these as a comfortable alternative to stilettos. Invest in a pair of these and I guarantee you gold medal in shoe fashion!
