As we approach the fifth week of class, it’s about that time where mid-terms are right around the corner. With that, of course, also comes the time to whip out those yoga pants and pitch a tent in the library with an unlimited supply of coffee. Believe me, I have my days where nothing but yoga pants and a hoodie will do, but don’t cave with the yoga pants just yet Fashionistas! Keep your style on point through these next two weeks with a little inspiration from your Style Advice of The Week.
The boyfriend jean, (a loose fit, low rise and cuffed hems) are in my opinion, the most underrated closet staple there is. Sure, skinny jeans rule supreme in most of your closets, but once you find that perfect pair of boyfriend jeans you’ll fall right in love. Boyfriend jeans are super comfy (perfect for those long days in the library…) and can easily look casual and laidback or chic and put together. This week’s Fashionista styled her medium wash denim with a plain white T-shirt and a cream and black striped blazer. She accessorized with a black scarf accenting the black in the blazer and a chic pair of black ballet flats embellished with gold studs. The look is effortlessly sleek and stylish.
There are plenty of ways to style boyfriend jeans. Pair these dark wash jeans with dark rose colored pumps (perfect color for fall), a striped T-shirt, and fitted blazer for a polished look. For a more laidback look, pair these light wash boyfriend jeans with a fitted sweater and ballet flats. Now put away those yoga pants and throw on some boyfriend jeans for the perfect day spent in the coffee shop writing all those essays (or checking out the cute barista that totally spelt your name right on your soy caramel macchiato with extra caramel…) Good luck on mid-terms, Fashionistas!
