STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Back It Up

Style Advice of the Week

Going to an all-girls Catholic school, I’ve always been the one able to walk out the door wearing pretty much anything. Heck, I know my fellow school girls can attest to wearing their uniforms all day until they were forced to take them off because, god forbid, we have to put on pajamas, which we’d wear under our uniforms anyway (is my high school unique in that aspect?). As much as I love being cozy in boyfriend jeans and my favorite T-shirt, there’s nothing better than getting ready for a night out; the times when you have all day to relax, shower and have a glass of wine or two getting ready while ignoring the horrible country music your roommate is playing (or is that just me?). Whether it’s a night out with friends or a fancy date night, I love dressing up! Black tends to be my go-to color, but lately I’ve been making an exception for one trend: open back dresses. I love them; they’re classy but still eye-catching.

This week’s Fashionsita is wearing an Alice + Olivia long-sleeve lace dress with a beautifully scalloped open back paired with black suede platforms. The dress is beautiful on its own with little styling needed. For a night out, try this low back from ASOS; I love this dress for its mid-length, perfect with a pair of strappy heels. This open back dress is unique with the geometric cut-out detailing and would look great with some bold jewelry. For a more casual open back dress, the Blu Moon Summer Lovin’ dress is a classic. It’s one of my favorite dresses in my wardrobe, and I know we’re in the dead of winter but I’m dreaming of summer and this is literally THE perfect summer dress! For open back dresses, a bra is out of the question. You’re going to need these.
