Through everything that’s been happening on the East Coast, fashion has hit a slight snag at Albright. However, I was able to find a Fashionista who wouldn’t let the storm kill her attitude. She’s a firm believer in dressing in what makes her comfortable, and that’s something that can be seen through her everyday outfit and actions. Key accessories are staples in her wardrobe.
Name: Jasmine Clarke
Major: Journalism, Digital Media and Photography
CollegeFashionista: Where do you gain inspiration for your style?
Jasmine Clarke: I am the kind of person that wears whatever looks nice. I like getting ideas from television and reading magazines. Also, I really like nude colors and earth tones. I stick to basic stuff, but I’ll accessorize with a scarf or jewelry.
CF: In a store, what’s the first section that draws your attention?
JC: The first place I will go is the clearance rack before I go to the regular priced items because sometimes I feel like the clearance section has really cute things. I like to budget and bargain shop.
CF: What’s your must-have item for any outfit?
JC: If I’m wearing jeans I always have to wear a cute belt. I can’t wear my jeans without a belt or they don’t fit. I own a lot of basic colors so it’s nothing too overwhelming. Also I like to coordinate my bags with my outfit.
CF: What are some fashion tips for girls with curves?
JC: I was on The Wendy Williams Show my freshman year and was able to get some tips on different items to wear. I learned that women don’t have to stick to jeans all the time, and dark colors help slim the body.
CF: What’s your favorite season to shop for?
JC: I would have to say spring and fall. I like to layer everything on, and I love the transition from summer to fall. I love wearing jeans, boots, tights and dresses.
CF: What’s an item of clothing that you would like to add to your closet?
JC: I really like chiffon shirts and menswear blouses. I don’t own any type of those shirts but I would like to incorporate them into my wardrobe.
