I never fail to get enticed by classic fashion pieces like this Fashionista's beautiful trench coat. Siting outside on campus, she looked effortlessly chic and I just adored the cute and versatile coat she had on. Now this is one of the reasons why I believe everyone, regardless of seasons, should always own a classic trench like this. Nothing could possibly go wrong and it keeps you warm and not to mention, in the spotlight of fashion.
Name: Sara Sarlo
Major: Social Work
Year: Second
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your daily style to school?
Sara Sarlo: It varies. Somedays if I'm feeling more girly I'll dress up and take more effort to get ready, otherwise it's a bit casual but still trendy and modern. I like playing with accessories as well.
CF: So what kind of accessories do you like?
SS: I love scarves and bags! I'm definitely into jewellery too. Colour coordinating in the aspect of accessories is really important as well.
CF: Where or whom do you get inspirations for fashion?
SS: I look at a lot of evening wear. I really love sewing and dancing and I tend to make my own dresses from these inspirations. I make my own formal dresses from scratch, as well as my dancing dresses so I definitely look at these styles for more and more fashion inspirations.
CF: Where do you usually shop at?
SS: I love Bardot and Guess Fashion. I think these two are my favourites! (laughs)
CF: Do you have any particular favourite accessory right now?
SS: I've started to buy a lot of chunky necklaces. I also love the whole 'black and gold' combination as well, so i wear them a lot now.
CF: That's cool. So would you say dancing as a passion influences your fashion?
SS: Totally. It's both ways vice versa. Dancing has influenced me in its own unique ways and fashion in its creative way has also influenced and inspired me.
CF: Lastly, do you have any tips in life about fashion?
SS: Wear something that compliments your personality. You want to feel like yourself and not just kind of conform to the trends but you want them to work with you and for you as well. I just mix and pull a bit of everything from different trends to work an outfit that fits me and makes me feel confident.
How to: To get Sara's look, head down to ASOS or General pants to grab a classic trench in colours like black, brown or something neutral. This way, you can be bold with accessories like scarves and necklaces. Be sure to have fun with fashion, and wear the trench coat in various styles and experiment. However, do feel free to play it up with loud coloured trench coats that could add vibrance into your outfit as well. Next head on down to Bardot and Guess like Sara has mentioned, and check out their latest fashion in order to work up a basic modern outfit that would complement your beautiful trench coat.
